Hydro One Women in Engineering Award
Ten awards support women studying undergraduate engineering at accredited Ontario universities. Recipients are also offered a paid developmental work term with Hydro One.

Who can apply
Applicants must identify as women, be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, study full-time at an accredited Ontario university, have at least a B+ GPA and strong oral and written communication skills, and take part in outreach, volunteer or educational activities with younger girls. Preference goes to electrical engineering students; women who have completed at least two years in civil, software, systems or computer engineering are also encouraged to apply. Students must be returning to full-time study. The work-term rules allow an exception where a placement is required to graduate.

Apply through the Women in Engineering Award posting on Hydro One's careers site with an updated résumé and unofficial transcripts. Applications close November 1, 2026. Hydro One management reviews applications, interviews shortlisted candidates and ranks their interview scores. The employer encourages applicants to prepare their materials in their own words.
