KCSF Nam Soo Kim Family Scholarship for First Year Undergraduates
Supports students pursuing Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines. The 2026–2027 cycle closes November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Who can apply
You must be in your first undergraduate year and have no previously completed academic year at a post-secondary institution. You must be in the first year of a Computer Science, Information Technology or Artificial Intelligence program at an accredited post-secondary school. To receive later instalments, you must remain in Computer Science, Information Technology or Artificial Intelligence and maintain at least a B-equivalent average in each completed year, for up to four years. Preference is given to University of Toronto students, but students from other universities are eligible to apply. You must study full-time at an accredited post-secondary institution in 2026–2027, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or student visa holder, and have Korean heritage or a significant, meaningful connection to the Korean community. Applicants without Korean heritage must describe their connection to the Korean community. High-school and part-time students are not eligible. You may receive only one KCSF scholarship during your lifetime.
How to apply
KCSF uses one application and considers you for every scholarship for which you qualify; you do not select individual awards. Prepare proof of full-time enrolment for 2026–2027 through an official registrar letter or confirmation of tuition payment, official transcripts covering your two most recently completed full academic years from every applicable secondary or post-secondary institution, a resume of no more than two pages, and the required essay. Supply contact details for two recommendations; one must be from a teacher or professor, and family members, relatives and friends cannot recommend you. KCSF contacts recommenders directly. Your application is incomplete until KCSF receives both recommendations. Submit all materials in English; where required, include an English translation or a certified translation with the original Korean document. Incomplete or late applications are not considered, and all documents and recommendations must arrive by November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Recipients must provide a headshot, short biography, donor thank-you, short video and other requested recognition material. They must attend the May 2027 award ceremony and participate in the LEAD program throughout the following year; KCSF charges scholars no LEAD program fee.
