Who can apply

First- or second-year PhD students in humanities or social sciences whose research aligns with one of the Foundation's four themes. Canadian students may study in Canada or abroad; international students must reside in Canada and study at a Canadian university. International students residing or studying outside Canada are ineligible.

How to apply

Request eligibility verification by October 2, 2026. The complete application is due November 6, 2026 at 4 p.m. ET. Supply three references: your PhD supervisor, another academic and someone outside academia.
