RBC Reimagine Scholarship
The RBC Reimagine Scholarship will provide 100 scholarships valued at $1,500 or $5,000 for individuals seeking upskilling or reskilling opportunities to grow in their current career, or transition into a new field.

Who can apply
Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; or have proof of status as a Protected Person or Convention Refugee from Immigration and Citizenship Canada (claimants are not eligible). Are an adult learner aged 25 or older. Have had a gap of at least three years since completing your last degree, diploma, or certificate. Are active in the workforce or seeking employment (not retired). Require financial assistance to pursue your learning opportunity. Are entering or enrolled in part-time or full-time studies. You must be able to demonstrate financial need through the self-reported financial need assessment included in the application form. RBC employees and dependents of RBC employees are not eligible. You can receive one scholarship per calendar year and a maximum of two scholarships in total. Your program must lead to a recognized credential or qualification (such as a diploma, post-graduate certificate, professional certification, trade license or stackable micro-credential), be upcoming or in progress when you apply, and not be completed when you apply. It must have a total duration of at least 16 weeks and no longer than three years, whether pursued part-time or full-time. The exception is micro-credentials, which must have a total duration of at least 40 instructional hours. Fall courses must start on or after August 1, 2026. You must study at a Canadian educational institution that has recognized degree or diploma granting powers, or one of its affiliates (such as a university, college or CEGEP technical diploma program). The institution must be located in Canada, even if the program is delivered entirely online. For career certifications, trades training and micro-credentials, the credential must be issued by the Canadian post-secondary institution, even if the program is delivered in partnership with industry or professional bodies. Eligible: formal credentialed programs (diploma programs, including advanced and technical diplomas; 3-year CEGEP technical programs; post-graduate certificates or diplomas; and master's degree programs, including course-based, research-based and professional master's programs); career certification and trades training, meaning courses that lead to a recognized professional or trade training, certification or apprenticeship; and micro-credentials that are part of a stackable series leading to a recognized credential or certificate, with a total duration of at least 40 instructional hours (courses in the same micro-credential series may be combined to reach it). Career certification and trades training programs must represent a course of study aligned with recognized industry or regulatory standards. Not eligible: programs longer than three years, such as 4-year undergraduate degrees or professional degrees; doctoral (PhD) programs; 2-year pre-university DEC programs; preparatory, qualifying, foundation-year or upgrading programs, including programs primarily intended to meet admission requirements for another program; single-course micro-credentials or stand-alone modules that do not form part of a broader stackable pathway; badges or certificates that only confirm attendance or participation; and online platforms such as Coursera, Udemy or LinkedIn Learning.
How to apply
Apply online. Application Periods: Cycle 2: August 31 – October 8, 2026. Please note: The RBC Reimagine Scholarship 2026 program will accept the first 500 submitted applications for review per cycle. If 500 applications have been submitted prior to the Cycle 2 application deadline of 1pm on October 8th, 2026, the portal will close, regardless of the date. You can apply once per application cycle. Upload the official recommendation form, found in the application portal, completed by a supervisor, mentor or colleague who is familiar with your commitment. It must be dated within 12 months of the application deadline. Include your resume or CV: PDF only, maximum 2 pages. Include proof of enrolment or registration (a tuition invoice, statement of account or letter from the Registrar's Office) confirming you are registered in your course or courses. Letters of admission or acceptance are not valid proof of enrolment. Successful applicants receive scholarship confirmation in December 2026. RBC Next Step Scholarships are administered by Universities Canada.
